BEHIND THE LENS
Christina Chaniotou was born in Athens, Greece. She has studied in the faculty of Philology of UoA. She has worked as a photographer, theater critic and editorial writer. Her main interest is to explore how photography reflects human nature. Seven years ago, she created the Dreama Project, a house of artistic existence. She specializes in portrait photography and shoots only on black and white film.
Dreama Project is about Time and Motion. It’s a conversation between the past and the present. It exists as a constant journey back and forth that surpasses the banal and transcends the classic. Its final destination is Achronia (greek; Αχρονία <α+χρόνος; the absence of time) and Atopia (greek; Ατοπία <α+τόπος; the absence of space). An additional goal for Dreama Project is to reveal our unique strength. This distinctive depiction is linked with a direct projection of the true Self to encourage human and empower its Spirit.
UPCOMING PROJECT
Flowingness 7 - the Mystic forms the upcoming plan presented by Dreama Project. This work will embrace the quality of being flowing in space-time. Bodies are fully aware of their existence and travel smoothly through light and darkness. Moreover, seven is the number of universal truth and seals the connection between the known-physical and the unknown-transcendent world. This signifies that human has great insight in this area of wisdom and soaks up experience and tranquility. He/she/it has developed the persistence of purpose and the ability to bear hardship in order to achieve a higher level of consciousness. Finally, Mystic is not a limited reference to the photographer or the model, but also includes current readers who will be summoned to this ritual.
